ST. MARYS - Six men have been arrested in the last 12 months - including one from St. Henry - after allegedly seeking sex with a teen they met online, who turned out to be an undercover police officer.
The men, who range in age from 31 to 50, were apprehended as part of an ongoing sting operation by the St. Marys Police Department. A police officer pretends to be an online teen and lures sexual predators to a location where they think they are going to have sex with this teen. [More]
St. Henry village council members will provide information but not compensation to a resident who claims the town is responsible for ongoing water problems on his property.
A committee chosen to investigate the issue recommended to councilors last week that Mark Wenning, 242 Spring St., be instructed where the storm sewer is located on nearby Washington Street and in front of his home, so he can check the tiles on his property to make sure they are clear and connected to the village lines. Tears welled in Alex J. Rhodes' eyes as he apologized to the men he critically injured during a stabbing near Fort Recovery in August. The emotional scene in Mercer County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday occurred prior to Rhodes being sentenced to eight years in prison.
