Scattered snow showers can be expected this morning along with westerly winds gusting to around 40 mph at times. Temperatures will continue to fall this morning, with readings dropping well below freezing.
Snow accumulations will be a half inch or less. This will result in some slick spots on untreated surfaces as well as bridges and overpasses. Please allow for some extra time to reach your destination this morning. Be prepared for changing road conditions as well as gusty winds.

An arctic cold front will move quickly east across the region through daybreak. This will usher in a much colder airmass with temperatures quickly falling below freezing.
Snow showers can be expected this morning with snow accumulations of a half inch or less possible. This will combine with the falling temperatures to produce slick spots on untreated roadways. In addition, brisk west winds will gust to 25 to 35 mph at times this morning.
The morning commute will be affected by these conditions. Please allow for some extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for slick spots, especially on bridges an overpasses.

Alvin Post
Former Wendelin resident Alvin H. Post, 78, 312 Kenneth Drive, St. Henry, died at 11:15 a.m. July 2, 2009, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Wendelin to John and Cordula Guggenbiller Post. On Sept. 5, 1956, he married Alice Homan, who survives.
Other survivors are three sons, Ivo (Linda) Post, Maria Stein, Jerry (Joretta) Post, St. Henry, and Chuck (Kathy) Post, Fort Recovery; five daughters, Bernice (John) Reichert, Maria Stein, Patty (Marvin) Uhlenhake, Coldwater, Sally Post, St. Henry, Angie (Paul) Mangen, Versailles, and Mary Jo Post, Dayton; a brother, Ben (Joan) Post, St. Henry; two sisters, Alma (Orville) Ranly, Coldwater, and Mary (Jim) Faller, New Weston; two brothers-in-law, Leon Vondrell, Fort Recovery, and Henry Drees, St. Marys; and 16 grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Eugene, Gregor, Zeno and Hugo Post; and four sisters, Rita Nerderman, Agnes Fullenkamp, Zita Drees and Rosaline Vondrell.
He retired from farming and was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its Men's Society, the Fort Recovery American Legion and the Mercer County Farm Bureau, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with military honors conducted at graveside.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
