Robert Jones Sr.
Robert A. Jones Sr., 85, Celina, died at 1:05 a.m. on May 29, 2011, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born June 10, 1925, in Darke County, to Charles T. and Emma Huffman Jones.
On Jan. 16, 1948, he married Betty Stephens, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Robert A. (Bonnie) Jones Jr., St. Marys, Jerrold (Mary Jane) Jones, California, Charles S. Jones, Celina, Cyndy (Ermon) Huston, Celina; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, James "Jim" Jones; two brothers, Charles Jones and John E. Jones; sisters, Helen McClellan, Virginia Shank, Luella Johnson and Maxine Jones.
A member of Montezuma Church of God, he was a graduate of Palestine High School and Miami Jacobs College, Dayton. A World War II veteran, he served with the 953rd field artillery, U.S. Army.
He retired in 1987 from New Idea, Coldwater and was retired from RCS, Rockford.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kevin Neumann officiating. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens, where military rites will be conducted.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the the funeral home.
