William Conradi Sr.
William L. Conradi Sr., 81, New Bremen, died at 1:21 a.m. May 29, 2011, at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born Sept. 2, 1929, near New Bremen, to Lambert and Amelia Kyburz Conradi. On Nov. 3, 1951, he married Donna Greber, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Conradi, New Bremen, a sister, Edythe (Bill) Henschen, NewKnoxville; a brother, Ned (Nancy) Conradi, New Bremen; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Dallas, Colorado Springs, Colo., Joan Greber, Celina, and Mary Greber, Tappannock, Va.
Deceased is a son, William "Rex" Conradi Jr.
A lifelong farmer, he worked 22 years as a custodian and later a bus driver for Auglaize Industries of New Bremen. He officially retired in 2011.
He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen. He was a life member of the American Legion Post, New Bremen, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles Lodge, both of Celina. He was a member of the former Tri County Referees Association and the U.S. Trotters Association.
He was a 1947 graduate of New Bremen High School and later served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen, where New Bremen's American Legion Post will provide graveside military honors.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Grand Lake Hospice or to the church memorial fund.
