Alice Eyink
Alice K. Eyink, age 94, of St. Henry, died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at The Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born March 12, 1923, in Chickasaw, to the late Joseph & Eleanor (Clune) Hein. On July 7, 1945, she married Dennis Eyink, who died July 27, 1978.
She is survived by three children, Phyllis & Robert Lewis of Brookville, Ronald & Pam Eyink of Dayton, and Mike & Molly Eyink of St. Henry. Alice is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one on the way, a sister, Geneva Dues of St. Henry; and a sister in-law, Alice Hein of Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Ernest & Clarina Hein, Dennis Hein, and in-laws: William Dues Jr., and Carl (Kite) & Mary Kathryn (Katy) Dues.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Altar Rosary Sodality. Alice was a charter member of the Coldwater F.O.E. auxiliary, the Coldwater V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the American Legions Auxiliary.
She was formerly employed at the Good Year Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys. Alice was well known in town, and was formerly a cook at Fish-Mo's restaurant previously Kite & Katy's in St. Henry and for many special events and celebrations in the area. She finally retired at the age of 81.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 12, 2016 at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
