Jean Warner
Jean M. Warner, 94, of St. Marys, OH died Sunday, September 17, 2017 in Highland Park, IL.
She was born June 20, 1923 in St. Marys, OH to Carl and Pauline (Zwez) Blank. On June 4, 1949 she married Wilbur Warner, who died January 25, 2012.
Survivors include: daughter Mary (James) Bell of Evanston, IL; grandson Jonathan Bell of Evanston, IL; granddaughter Elizabeth Bell of Evanston, IL; brother Tom (Elaine) Blank of Dunedin, FL; sister Barb Blank of Stow, OH; brother-in-law Guy (Vera) Schmidt of Celina, OH; sister-in-law Evelyn Heinfeld of Ft. Wayne, IN; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents Carl and Pauline Blank; husband Wilbur Warner; brother James Blank.
She was a graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta (Class of 1941). She was employed as a secretary for the St. Marys City Schools at McBroom Jr. High School. Following her retirement, she worked part-time for the Laura Yelton State Farm Insurance Agency in St. Marys. Earlier in life, she worked as a bookkeeper for G.A. Wintzer & Son in Wapakoneta, OH.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in St. Marys, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She served as a leader for the Girl Scouts and was a charter member of both St. Marys and Wapakoneta chapters of Beta Phi Sorority.
Her favorite pastimes included needlepoint, quilting and caring for her plants. In addition, Jean absolutely loved the hundreds of children who attended McBroom Jr. High and came into the office to speak with "Mrs. Warner", who served as the School's secretary for 26 years.
Rites are scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Thursday September 21, 2017 at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W, High Street Chapel) in St. Marys. The Rev. Dr. Ed Bray will officiate the services. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home on High Street.
