Joseph Kuhn
Joseph Kuhn, age 88, died on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Celina.
Joe was born on October 18, 1928 in Celina to John A. & Ruth (Cordier) Kuhn.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dolores (Uhlenhake) Kuhn of Celina, son Daniel Kuhn of Jackson, Michigan and grandchildren Lesley and Brian Chesnut of Atlanta, Georgia. Joe is also survived by his brother Ray Kuhn of Celina, sisters Betty Thomas of Rockford and Naomi Bender of New Orleans, Louisiana, his son-in-law Roger Chesnut of Richmond Hill, Georgia and sisters-in-law Alta Jean Kuhn and Marita Uhlenhake, both of Celina.
Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Jayne Chesnut, brothers, George and Clarence Kuhn, and sisters, Mary Hults and Norma Buck.
A 1946 graduate of Celina High School, Joe attended Jackson Community College in Jackson, Michigan. Joe retired from White-New Idea Farm Equipment with 44 years of service. He worked for the company in Ohio, in Michigan, where he was a Branch Sales Manager, and in Pennsylvania, where he was a Regional Sales Manager, before retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the New York Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association and past president of the Pennsylvania Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association. While serving in the U.S. Army, Joe was a part of the occupation forces in Germany in 1951-52. He was a member of Celina American Legion Post #210 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5713. Active in many area organizations, he was a member of the Mercer County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, Mercer County Historical Society, Civil War Round Table, the New Idea Preservation Committee, and Celina Moose Lodge #1473.
Joe was a loving son, husband and father who enjoyed helping others. Joe and his wife Dolores enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 States, Canada, Mexico and Spain. They loved spending winters in Tybee Island, Georgia to be near their grandchildren.
Services will be held at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina on Monday, October 2 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Burial will take place at St. Marys Cemetery in Celina, with Military Rites to be conducted by members of Celina American Legion Post #210 and Celina VFW Post #5713.
Memorials in honor of Joe may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
