Anne Hamilton
Anne M. Hamilton, of New Bremen, died at 6:53 P.M. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Van Wert Independent Hospice Center, of Van Wert, Ohio following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Her birthday was the 17th of November, and she was born in Coldwater to the late Joseph J. and Marie E. (Lorton) Dirksen.
Surviving are her children; Megan Hamilton of New Bremen, Matthew Hamilton of Piqua, and Marcus (Cassie) Hamilton of Mesa, AZ, her three granddaughters; Emma, Eleanor, and Virginia, and her siblings; Donna (Tom) Pleiman of Sidney, Dave (Debbie) Dirksen of Bradford, and Ben (DeeDee) Dirksen of Lima.
Anne was a graduate of Marion Local High School, and later went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Northwestern Ohio. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, and was a very active member of the Democratic Party.
She enjoyed playing golf, going on walks, and traveling - especially taking beach vacations to spend time in the sun. She enjoyed spending time with her family and participating in family traditions at the holidays, but her favorite was to face-time with her granddaughters in Arizona.
Anne worked at KTH Parts Industries in St. Paris for the last several years, and had previously worked at Ford in Lima.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen with Rev. Fr. Thomas Dorn and Deacon Greg Bornhorst officiating. Inurnment will follow in the St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery of Osgood.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and on Wednesday from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. at the church.
