* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Consecutive days of excessive heat and humidity can be especially hazardous as warm overnight temperatures will provide little relief. The heat may continue into Wednesday.

Helen Johnson
Helen E. Johnson , age 84, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, died June 8, 2018 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born September 11, 1933, in Fort Recovery, to the late Floyd and Zella (Lowry) Eichenauer. On November 6, 1955, she married the late Gayle Johnson, who died May 6, 2013.
Surviving are her children, Doug Johnson of Fort Recovery, Leslie Johnson of Fort Recovery, Cindy Bradley of Lowell, IN, and Becky (Ray) Link of Maria Stein; a grandson, Jamie Bradley; brother, Vernon Eichenauer of Fort Recovery; sister-in-law, Alice Eichenauer of Fort Recovery; brother-in-law, Don Brautigam of Wapakoneta, OH; in-laws, Glen "Jay" Johnson of Redkey, IN, Herta Johnson of Redkey, IN, Mary Helen Reynolds of Dunkirk, IN, Marjorie Forrest of Greenfield, IN, Kenny (Mary Jane) Johnson of Albany, IN, Georgia Johnson of Bluffton, IN, Daris Johnson of Knoxville, TN, and Lana Johnson of Punta Gorda, FL.
Preceding her in death are sisters, Norma Jean (Bob) Cron and Lola Brautigam; a brother, Carroll Eichenauer; sisters-in-law, Iris Jean Eichenauer and Ruth Eichenauer; in-laws, Bill Johnson, Harry Johnson, Damon Johnson, Keith Johnson, Karl Forrest, and Irvin Reynolds.
She was a 1951 graduate of Fort Recovery High School and attended the Fort Recovery United Methodist Church, Fort Recovery.
Helen was a member of the community bell choir and enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed various types of art. She played the piano, painted and decorated cakes in her past time.
Services are 10:30 am Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, with Pastor Thomas Bolton officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 5:00 pm-8:00 pm Monday and 9:30 am till services Tuesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home.
