Thomas Hoyng
Thomas C. Hoyng, age 76, of St. Henry died on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center, Dayton.
He was born October 15, 1943 in Carthagena to the late Vincent & Olivia (Rosengarten) Hoyng. On November 13, 1965 he married his wife of almost 55 years, Carolyn (Schoenlein) Hoyng, and she survives in St. Henry.
Tom is also survived by children: Alan & Robin Hoyng of St. Henry, Mike Hoyng of Celina, Angela & Roy Mescher of Maria Stein, and Scott & Terrie Hoyng of Montezuma, as well as grandchildren: Ashley Hoyng, Justin Hoyng, Katie & Mitch Rinderle, Brooke, Hailey, and Morgan Mescher, Brandon & Whitney Hoyng, Bryce & Shelby Hoyng, Paige Hoyng & Craig Grieshop, Blake Hoyng, and two great grandchildren, Elsie Marie and Felix Thomas. Siblings and in-laws surviving Tom are Marge & Ken Jacobs of St. Henry, Pat Hoyng of Celina, Larry & Virginia Rammel of Greenville, Cindy & Larry Wenning, and Deb & Dan Hess all of St. Henry.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by brothers Jim Hoyng, and Dan & Barb Hoyng.
Tom was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, and served his country in the Air National Guard. He retired from Crown after 35 years.
He was a big A.J. Foyt racing fan, and loved following the grandchildren's sporting activities, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 concerns a funeral Mass with social distancing will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at St. Henry Catholic Church with live stream at https://sthenrycluster.com/livestream/.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm on Wednesday, September 30 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Henry Emergency Medical Squad.
