Barbara Vogel
Barbara Vogel, 85, of Saint Marys, died Saturday, September 26, 2020, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born April 14, 1935, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Milton and Mabel (Katterheinrich) Kattman. She married Robert Vogel on September 25, 1954; he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons: Mike (Eloise) Vogel of Saint Marys; Daniel (Dorine) Vogel of Saint Marys; Jeff (Ann) Vogel of Saint Marys; John (Melissa) Vogel of Saint Marys. She is survived by her sister, Susan (Bob) Brown of Centerville; by her grandchildren: Robert Vogel; James (Jamie) Vogel; Laura (Eric) Germann; Nicholas (Kayla) Vogel; Jacob Vogel; Jamison (Rebekah) Vogel; Nathan Vogel; Mitchell (Mara) Vogel; Jonathan Vogel; Adam Vogel; Noah Vogel. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Elijah; Gracelyn; Dillon Vogel; Elise and Casey Germann. She is survived by her honorary daughter, Kathy Sampson of Saint Marys, and Kathy's children, Elizabeth and Amanda; by her brother-in-law, John (Sue) Vogel.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband.
Barb was a 1953 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School, where she was class valedictorian. She attended Bowling Green State University, and she had worked at the Minster State Bank, along with being a farm wife. She was very musical, and loved playing her piano.
She took her faith very seriously, and lived it out by volunteering for many years at Agape Ministry in Saint Marys; Joint Township District Memorial Hospital and Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. Family meant everything to Barb, and she loved spending her time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Saint Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Benjamin, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
In accordance with the mandates of the Ohio Department of Health, all visitors are required to wear a mask at the funeral home and church.
