William Moore
William J. "Bill" Moore, age 74, of New Bremen, died on Monday, February 8, 2021 at his residence.
He was born on November 24, 1946 in Sidney, Ohio to the late Walter J. and Doris B. (Harmon) Moore. On June 15, 1974 he married Jane Schulte who survives in New Bremen.
Also surviving are his children Jennifer (Tony) Hirschfeld and Jon Moore, his granddaughter Mia Hirschfeld, all of New Bremen. Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters Saundra (Larry) Hirschfeld of Anna, and Jane (Dennis) Gruebmeyer of New Bremen, and his in-laws: Rita (Walt) Heitkamp of Minster, Mary (Pat) Cogan of Wapakoneta, Ken (Sharon) Schulte of St. Sebastian, and Jerry (Chris) Schulte of Chickasaw.
Bill was a 1965 graduate of New Bremen High School.
After high school, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country from 1966-1970 servicing and refueling planes in Japan and Florida before eventually overseeing a bulk fuel supply in Thailand. Over his career he worked for several New Bremen businesses. He worked in sales at the former Seyfert's Foods and Meadow Gold/Beatrice Foods, and later worked in the stockroom and drove parts from plant to plant at Crown Equipment Corp., and he retired as a delivery driver for Opus Packaging.
He was an active member of the New Bremen American Legion Post 241, having served as a Past Commander, and also in the Legion Honor Guard for many years.
In his spare time, Bill and Jane spent all their time together camping, socializing, taking winery trips, or just driving around in the convertible. Bill also enjoyed following his children's sporting events and later Mia's activities - always a big New Bremen Cardinal fan. Bill will be remembered for being a great husband and father, for his sense of humor, and his ability to make others smile.
