Sr. Paula Huecker (Corrine Helen), SFP, passed away on May 24th, 2021 at the age of 77, in her 60th Jubilee year.

Born on the family farm in McCartyville, Ohio to the late Paul and Theresa (Schlater) Huecker, she was the fifth of six children. She joined the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor in 1961 after graduating from Anna High School. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Dayton. She spent most of her nursing ministry in the small, semi- rural hospital of Our Lady of Bellefonte in Ashland, Kentucky. In 2003, she relocated to Cincinnati and became the Care Coordinator/ Community Minister for her fellow sick and elderly Sisters in Mercy Franciscan Terrace. When the Terrace closed in 2013, she was instrumental in transitioning the Sisters to a new nursing section for their care at St. Clare Convent. Her life witnessed to simplicity, patience, resilience, and the ongoing love of God and neighbor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Edward (Jackie) and William (Marilyn), and her sisters Madonna (Jim) Roth and Carol (Robert) Hurm.

She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her Sisters: the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, her brother Robert (Carol), in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and fiends.

A Wake and Liturgy of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, May 29th at St. Clare Chapel.
