Snowfall of at least an inch is expected across the region, with up to 2 inches possible. There is also the potential for brief intense bursts of snow, especially between 10 PM and 3 AM. Where these brief bursts of snow occur, visibility may drop suddenly, creating additional travel hazards tonight.
West winds will become northwest overnight, gusting as high as 30 to even 35 mph. This may cause blowing snow over roadways, even as the snow ends after 3 AM.

CELINA - Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey on Monday announced his intent to retire at the end of his sixth term in 2025 after more than 20 years of service.
Grey said he made the announcement now as 2023 is preparation year for the 2024 election cycle, according to a news release. The primary election is in March 2024, and Grey's term ends on Jan. 5, 2025. [More]
Councilman sour on planned fixes to Montgomery Field

CELINA - Councilman June Scott during Monday's city council meeting said he would not support upgrading facilities at Montgomery Field if the city has to foot the long-term bill for upkeep and maintenance.
Grand Lake Mariners officials at a recent council meeting told councilors they are embarking on a campaign to raise funds to make facility upgrades at the field, most notably with viewing suites above a new visitors team dugout. [More]

MARIA STEIN - A $3.56 million increase in property valuation has resulted in a slight reduction of an emergency levy, Marion Local board members learned Monday night. The board also approved appropriations for fiscal year 2023.
NEW BREMEN - Village council members on Monday passed under suspension of rules an ordinance for the 2023 budget totaling $27.4 million.
Council approved the budget amount last meeting, but stipulated Monday a change in which council approves each section.
ST. HENRY - While St. Henry Local Schools District finances are in good shape, one district official during Monday's regular school board meeting noted district revenue has marginally increased while expenses have increased by more than 10% over several years.
ST. HENRY - Village administrator Stan Sutter during Monday's council meeting said he wants to complete the estimated $1.5 million Bernard housing subdivision reconstruction project this year.
