Kenneth Rindler
Kenneth R. Rindler, age 81, of New Bremen, died on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 10:20 p.m. at the Elmwood Assisted Living of New Bremen.
He was born on February 9, 1943 at home in Burkettsville, the son of the late Cletus J. and Delores A. (Hoehne) Rindler. On October 16, 1965 he married Sharon K. Staugler, sharing 58 wonderful years together. Sharon survives in New Bremen.
Also surviving are his daughters: Renae (Mark) Gaerke of New Bremen; Rhonda (Ken) Park of Chicago; and Roxann (Matt) Stammen of Coldwater; his three grandchildren: Kortni Park, Kimberli Burrow, and Kristen Park, and his great-grandchildren: Kalleigha Park and Kira Park. Also left to cherish Ken's memory are his siblings and in-laws: Marlene Rainey, Diane (Don) Ebbing, Wilma Bruns, Nancy (Ron) Pfaff, David (Lucy) Rindler, Larry (Mary) Rindler, Dan (Nancy) Rindler, Tom (Deb) Rindler, John (Janet) Rindler, Greg (Angie) Rindler, and Denise (Jeff) Heinfeldt.
Along with his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his siblings and in-laws: Carolyn (Kenny) Muhlenkamp, Judy Gaier, Mark Rindler, Harold Rainey, and Lavern Bruns.
Ken attended Burkettsville Primary School and St. Henry High School until he was 16. He then worked for Crown Equipment Corp. in New Bremen for six years. He went on to work for Wayne Trail in Ft. Loramie as a tool and die machinist for the next 50 years until his retirement in 2015. He was a longtime member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. He served his country in the Army National Guard. He had belonged to the New Bremen Rod & Gun Club and Bar E at Eldora. He loved fishing, trapping, riding motorcycles, playing basketball, listening to the Cincinnati Reds baseball games with his girls, as well as family camping trips and snowmobiling. He was an avid golfer and liked to play euchre and knock rummy. He enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes, golf tournaments, Eldora Racing, and avidly watched the Olympics. Ken enjoyed building Adirondack chairs and OSU solar lights and always wanted to improve the design of anything he purchased.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. The Mass will also be live-streamed on the church's YouTube channel which can be found through their website, www.hrcatholic.org. Military Rites will follow the Mass. Private family inurnment will take place in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen at a later date.
Rather than holding formal calling hours, family and friends are invited to share in a reception following the Mass. For those not attending the Memorial Mass, the family will be receiving condolences in the Holy Redeemer Parish Hall from 1-3 p.m.
