COLDWATER- Mercer Health officials on Wednesday night announced plans to purchase the Grand Lake Galleria Conference Center in Celina for $3 million.
Board of governors on Wednesday night passed a resolution authorizing Mercer Health executives to secure up to $2.7 million in long-term debt financing to acquire the center where it currently leases office space. [More]

  AUGLAIZE COUNTY - Voters in several townships and villages in southwestern Auglaize County will decide on fire and emergency medical services levies on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
Minster
Minster voters will see a 3-mills, three-year fire and EMS renewal levy that would generate $323,000 annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $74 per year, according to Minster Village Administrator Don Harrod. [More]

VAN WERT - Note to the other 15 teams in Division VI still playing volleyball: top-ranked and undefeated Coldwater is going to be very hard to beat.
After dropping the first two sets Wednesday night at Van Wert, second-ranked St. Henry exposed a crack in the Cavaliers' invincibility by winning the third set, which marked only the second time this season - in 71 tries - that Coldwater has lost a set. [More]

Officials: 7-12 building is right on schedule
CELINA - Crews have begun work on forming a foundation for the new grades 7-12 building, while on the other side of town contractors are ahead of schedule in renovating the Celina Intermediate School.
Mercer County was knocked out of Ohio's lowest unemployment spot in September by Medina and Geauga counties, which tied for No. 1.
Ohio's unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.5%, with area counties seeing a small uptick in joblessness in September.
