J. Kaye Schneider, 82 of Cridersville, Ohio died Tuesday June 24, 2025 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born in Lamira, Ohio to the late Dale and Lucille Brown Gossett.

Kaye was a teacher of biology and worked as a librarian for the Worlds Library. Kaye graduated from St. Clairsville High School in 1961 then attended The Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. Then she pursued a master degree in library sciences at the University of Michigan where she met her late husband Austin. She married Austin R. Schneider on June 17, 1967. She formerly attended East Richland Evangelical Friends Church. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, music, nature, animals, especially her Westies (dogs) Bruce and Murphy, and was an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Austin R. Schneider in 2016 and. She is survived by several cousins and special friends, Andy (Traci) Schnipke, Larry Reindel, and Elizabeth "Liz" Meuther.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio on Saturday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am with a pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerian, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
