Mary Anderson
Mary Anderson, age 89, of rural Celina, passed away peacefully at her home on June 25, 2025.
She was born on October 7, 1935, in St. Paris, Ohio, to the late Clifford and Faye (Blackford) Shaffner. On February 9, 1951, she married the love of her life, E. Andy Anderson, who preceded her in death on December 24, 2022.
Mary is survived by her loving children: Bill (Pam) Anderson of Sidney, Sharon K. (Ed) Fiely of St. Henry, Vicki Lynn (Manuel) Luna of Seattle, Washington, Steve (Lisa) Anderson of Pennville, Indiana, Bruce Anderson of Springfield, Tim Anderson of Celina, Richard "Rick" Anderson of Celina, and Larry Anderson of Arizona. She was a proud grandmother to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her cherished companion, her dog, Dodie.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy and Gary Anderson, as well as five sisters and six brothers.
Mary dedicated decades of her life to working at Huffy Bicycles in Celina, where she formed lasting friendships, including a special bond with her dear friend of 50 years, Kim Highley. Together, they brought warmth, joy, and a cheerful spirit to the workplace daily. She was also a devoted homemaker who took immense pride in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother and great grandmother. She found joy in cooking for her family and friends, tending to her yard, and spending quality time with loved ones. Her life was defined by her love for family and the simple pleasures of home.
She was a member of the Celina VFW Post #5713.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Cisco Funeral Home, 6921 State Route 703 E, Celina, Ohio 45822.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, 6496 Karch Rd, Celina, Ohio 45822.
