Cheryl Rammel
Cheryl A. Rammel, age 63, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
She was born on February 10, 1962, in Coldwater, to the late Henry, Jr. "Hank" and Arlene (Poeppelman) Fortkamp.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 42 years, John M. Rammel, whom she married on October 16, 1982; her children, Krystal (Tyler) Miller, Ciera (Tyler) Wuebker, and Bobby (Beth) Rammel, all of Fort Recovery; her grandchildren, Levi, Draven, Creed, Rihanna, Brooklyn, Courtney, Finley, Kobe, Brylee, Brea, and Oaklyn, with one on the way; her siblings, Christine (Tom) Remaklus, Norma (Ronnie) Sudhoff, Kevin (Sharon) Fortkamp, and Brian (Susie) Fortkamp; her late father and mother-in-law, Robert and Jean Rammel; her in-laws, Beverly ( late Rich) Newell, Harriet (Jerry) Pearson, Vicki (Tom) Staugler, Mary Jo (late Dale) Metzger, Beth (late John Kaffenbarger and late L.D) Nofziger, late Lisa (late Rick) Kaup, Ruth (Steve) Reichert, Jeff (Terri) Rammel, and Sharon (late Scott) Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was a 1980 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. She dedicated many years of her life to the propane industry, working as a customer service representative for AmeriGas and Mercer Landmark. Her warm personality and genuine care for others made her a natural in the role.
If you knew Cheryl, you knew she had a passion for shopping and an unmatched talent for finding bargains at garage sales. She had a zest for life and was always the life of the party-making sure that everyone around her was having just as much fun as she was. Her smile was infectious, and no matter what life threw her way, she maintained a positive outlook that inspired those around her.
Cheryl had a heart for service. She was always willing to lend a helping hand-whether to a friend, neighbor, or her wider community. She was a proud and active member of the Fort Recovery VFW Post 6615 and the Fort Recovery American Legion Post 345 Auxiliaries.
But above all else, Cheryl's greatest love was her family. She cherished her husband and children deeply and adored being a grandmother. Her family was her world, and her legacy of love and devotion will live on through them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 12, 2025, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
