Charles Zumberge
Charles "Charlie" F. Zumberge, age 75, of Celina, passed away peacefully at 8:36 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at his home in Celina.
He was born on April 11, 1950, in Celina to the late John H. and Virginia L. (Kittle) Zumberge.
He is survived by his siblings, Michael (Cheryl) Zumberge of Celina, Theresa Zumberge of St. Marys, and Jennifer (David Brown) Zumberge of Celina; his sister-in-law, Virginia "Ginny" Zumberge of Celina; and many beloved nieces and nephews, Jason (Emily) Hines of Celina, Heather (Steve) Zumberge-Powalski of Loveland, Jacqueline (Jeffry Bertke) Zumberge, Brooke (Jacob Archer) Zumberge of Celina, Janelle (Joey) Homan of Springboro, and Deb (Dustin) Trost of Pleasant Hill.
He was a proud great-uncle to Austin, Alyssa, Aiden, and Andrew Hines; McKenna and Harley Powalski; Corah Bertke; Mahllie and Maddox Elking and William Archer; Mikayla Kinser and Zoey Homan; Celine Nicodemus and Dylan and Dawson Trost. He is also survived by his great-great nephews, Liam Miller and Jaxton Hines.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his siblings, Loree (Scott) Nicodemus and Stephen Zumberge, and twin nephews, John and Jesse Nicodemus.
Charlie was a 1969 graduate of Celina High School, a proud member of the school's 1969 WBL Championship football team, and spent his lifetime working as a farmer, a vocation he deeply loved. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and had been a past member of the Celina Moose, Celina VFW Post 5713, Celina American Legion Post 210, and Celina Eagles Post 1291.
Charlie enjoyed classic cars, especially his classic Dodge Charger, attending car shows, watching his great-nieces and nephews participate in sports, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed going to lunch at the bowling alley in Celina and taking drives around Mercer County to look at the farmland he cherished so much.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina. Friends may also call from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the Mass on Saturday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Prashanth Bandanadham officiating. Interment will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
