Doris Kaiser
Doris Jean Kaiser, age 86, of Fort Recovery, passed away on January 23, 2026, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born on August 9, 1939, in Versailles, to the late Jacob Sherman and Margaret (Frantz) Sherman Barga.
Doris will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Marvin "Bud" Kaiser, whom she married on June 11, 1960 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles; her children, Dennis Kaiser of Fort Recovery, Greg (Bonnie) Kaiser of Fort Recovery, Robert (Sandy) Kaiser of Fort Recovery, Tim (Kelly) Kaiser of St. Mary's and Angie (Brian) Jutte of Fort Recovery; her brother, Paul (Betty) Sherman of Versailles; her grandchildren, Ashley (David), Calvin, Mitch, Dustin, Wyatt (Caitlynn), Devin, Hayden, Sydney, Cody, Kayne, and Jacob, with one great grandchild on the way; and numerous extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ralph Barga.
A graduate of Versailles High School, Doris was first and foremost a dedicated homemaker and mother. She spent 22 years sharing her kindness with the community through her work at Kaup Pharmacy. A devoted Catholic, Doris was a member of Mary Help of Christians, where she especially found joy in the Ladies' Sodality.
Doris found great joy in getting together with family on the holidays and spending time with her grandkids. She loved eating dip with chips, among other dippable foods - earning her the nickname "The Dippy Lady." Just as much as she enjoyed spending time with family, Doris loved traveling and exploring all the world had to offer. She was proud of her accomplishment in visiting all 50 states and even ventured to Germany - a trip she held dear. In her free time, Doris enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, sharing laughter and companionship that will be fondly remembered.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Mary Help of Christians, with Father Ethan Moore celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Doris' family on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Fort Recovery Community Foundation or EverHeart Hospice.
