Proposed Flood Hazard Determinations for Auglaize County, Ohio and Incorporated Areas
The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency has issued a preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), and where applicable, Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report, reflecting proposed flood hazard determinations within Auglaize County, Ohio and Incorporated Areas. These flood hazard determinations may include the addition or modification of Base Flood Elevations, base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area boundaries or zone designations, or the regulatory floodway. Technical information or comments are solicited on the proposed flood hazard determinations shown on the preliminary FIRM and/or FIS report for Auglaize County, Ohio and Incorporated Areas. These flood hazard determinations are the basis for the floodplain management measures that your community is required to either adopt or show evidence of being already in effect in order to qualify or remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program. However, before these determinations are effective for floodplain management purposes, you will be provided an opportunity to appeal the proposed information. Notice of Public Hearings
To Enact a County Motor Vehicle License Tax
Notice is hereby given that two public hearings will be held in which all interested persons will be heard on the question of the adoption of a Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners of Mercer County, Ohio to levy an annual license tax pursuant to Section 4504.02 of the Ohio Revised Code. The tax shall be at the rate of five dollars ($5.00) per motor vehicle on all motor vehicles the district of registration of which, as defined in section 4503.10 of the Revised Code, is located in the county levying the tax and shall be in addition to the taxes at the rates specified in sections 4503.04 and 4503.16 of the Revised Code, subject to reductions in the manner provided in section 4503.11 of the Revised Code and the exemptions provided in sections 4503.16, 4503.17, 4503.171, 4503.173, 4503.41, 4503.43, and 4503.46 of the Revised Code.
The first hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. The second hearing will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Both hearings will be held in the Central Services Building, first floor conference room, 220 W. Livingston Street, Celina, Ohio. At the conclusion of the second public hearing, the Mercer County Board of Commissioners may adopt said resolution. Pursuant to the law, the resolution may not take effect sooner than 30 days following its adoption.
