Elmer Lange
Elmer H. Lange, 87, 307 Touvelle St., Celina, died at 5:50 p.m. Jan. 21, 2007, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born July 12, 1919, in St. Henry, to Louis and Anna Selhorst Lange. On Jan. 28, 1956, he married Marcella Leugers, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, William (Beth), Hamilton, Dale (Linda), Beavercreek, and James (Kim), Xenia; a daughter, Dorothy (Alan) Meade, Fairborn; five brothers, Cyril (Marg), Fort Loramie, Louis (Martha), Wapakoneta, and Eugene, Leroy (Ilene) and Cletus (Edna), all of St. Henry; five sisters, Marie Pottkotter, St. Henry, Cleopha Strete, Wapakoneta, Wilma Dues, Philothea, Rita (Joe) Schroer, Fort Recovery, and Frances (Lawrence) Gehret, Fort Loramie; and nine grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Agnes; and three brothers-in-law, Ralph Strete, Sylvester Dues and Albert Pottkotter.
He retired in 1983 from Minster Machine and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II in the 3rd Infantry division and military police. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1800, American Legion Post 210 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, all of Celina. He also was a member of the American Legion and VFW Color Guards.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
