Joseph Barber
Joseph A. Barber, 93, formerly of Glynwood, died at 12:46 a.m. April 19, 2008, at the Golden Living Center-Valley, St. Marys.
He was born March 5, 1915, in Wapakoneta, to Ray and Laura Schneider Barber. On June 6, 1942, he married Margaret Hoehn, who died Jan. 13, 1999.
Survivors are, a son, Ray (Janet) Barber, St. Marys; two daughters, Kay (John) Mueller, St. Marys, and Patricia Barber, Patalaska; a brother, Jim Barber; a sister, Rosie Presar, both of Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are two brothers Raymond and Harry; a sister, Mary Hance; and a great-grandchild.
He was a life-long farmer and retired from the Ohio Teledyne Steel Co., Lima. He was a tool maker, a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Glynwood, a founding member of the Shawnee Long Rifles and a member of the Blackhoof Creek String Band, which he helped start.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Glynwood, the Rev. Oscar H. Seger, officiating. Burial is at the St. Thomas Cemetery, Glynwood.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home (High Street Chapel), St. Marys.
