Alfred Boerger
Alfred A. "Curly" Boerger, 94, formerly of 10755 Friemering Road, Fort Loramie, died at 11:40 p.m. April 19, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
He was born Oct. 29, 1913, in Fort Loramie to Frank and Emma Ernst Boerger. On May 3, 1947, he married Louise Hoying, who died Sept. 23, 2003.
Survivors are two sons, David (Deborah), Orchard Lake, Mich., and Luke (Beverly), Russia; three daughters, Sara (Donald) Webb, Bellbrook, Ann (Woody) Joslin, Maplewood, and Lucy (LeRoy) Gaier, Fort Loramie; three brothers, Herb, McCartyville, Ralph (Eileen), New Bremen, and Robert, Fort Loramie; four sisters, Dorothy Wolf and Clarissa Thieman, both of Minster, Mary Francis, Russia, and Ruth (Martin) Dabbelt, New Bremen; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a step great-grandson.
Deceased are three brothers, Leo, Clarence and Frank; and three sisters, Alma Feldman, Juliana Wagner, and Catherine Boerger.
He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where he was an usher and choir member, the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in Minster, the Shelby County Right to Life and the Shelby County Farm Bureau.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. James McCabe officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at N.J. Hogenkamp Sons, Inc., Minster.
