Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s to lower 90s today. This will combine with a humid airmass to produce heat indicies in the 95 to 100 degree range this afternoon.

Airport board cuts manager's position

A 50 percent budget cut has led to the termination of a full-time manager at Mercer County's only airport.
Scott Arnold's last day on the job is Feb. 15, Airport Authority Board President Steve Klosterman said this morning, following a meeting Monday night. The board also made across-the-board cuts wherever it could to combat the $15,000 it won't receive from the county this year. Arnold is the only employee at the airport. [More]

Two Celina men implicated in a series of break-ins at two Celina-area businesses are headed to prison following appearances in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
Dean W. Jons, 25, 126 Leona St., was sentenced to nine months each on two counts of breaking and entering. The sentences were ordered to be served consecutively. Judge Jeffrey Ingraham granted credit for 106 days served during pendency of the case. [More]

St. MARYS - Several residents living on roadways designated in the 2010 street program attended city council's regular meeting Monday, but no one spoke on the topic.
ST. MARYS - Several residents are asking around about the new guy, who has been posing questions and making observations at city council and school board meetings. Turns out he isn't new at all; and his goal is transparency in public offices.
