Unseasonably warm weather may have farmers thinking about planting spring crops earlier than normal this year.

Many area farmers were seen working ground last week. At least one producer in northern Mercer County did plant some corn, a local ag official said.

A new map identifying flood-prone regions in the unincorporated areas of Mercer County will become effective May 16.
