Mildred Oen
Former Minster resident Mildred Deloris Champ Oen, 83, died at 12:10 a.m. March 26, 2012, in Albany, Ind.
She was born Oct. 10, 1928, in Cambridge, to William and Beatrice Thomas Tracey. In 1949, she married Eugene "Gene" Champ, who died in 1980. In 1989, she married Daniel Oen, who died in 2007.
Surviving are seven children, David (Vivian) Champ, Redkey, Ind., Ronald (Mary Ann) Champ, Dunkirk, Ind., Linda (Bud) Clark, Redkey, Marsha (Ronald) Fuller, Dunkirk, Debra (Rodney) Kummer, Redkey, Jean Bailey, Dunkirk, and Dianna (Bill) Bishop, Redkey; a brother, William Tracey, Cincinnati; a sister-in-law, Wanda Champ, Redkey; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four stepchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Mary Ellen Shimp.
She retired from Kerr Glass in Dunkirk. She attended Union Chapel Ministries, Muncie, Ind.
She was a member of the 8th U.S. Air Force #169 of the 351st Bomb Group Association, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Redkey Town and Country Home Ec. Club and the GMP Union.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland, Ind. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, south of Redkey.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
