David Russell
David T. Russell, 74, Celina, died March 25, 2012, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born April 25, 1937, in Providence, R.I., to Wilbur and Olive Allen Russell. On Nov. 14, 1959, he married Wava Lantz, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Michael David (Beth) Russell, Celina, Roberta "Bobbie" (Rick) Turner, Celina, and Ronda (Ron) Helmer, Celina; a sister, Nancy (Paul) Beck, Harrisburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was retired from Huffy Bicycle Plant, Celina, and had served as a police officer in Hicksville for several years.
He served with the U.S. Air Force, 1954-58, and was stationed in post-war Korea. He was a member of Coldwater American Legion and had been a Boy Scout leader and assistant scoutmaster.
He was a member of Montezuma Church of Christ.
Graveside services are 1 p.m. Thursday at North Grove Cemetery, Celina, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating.
Calling is 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
Memorials may be made to C.A.L.L. Food Pantry, Celina, where he had been a volunteer.
