GRAND LAKE - An old beach at Windy Point could be fixed up and ready for use by Grand Lake visitors by the end of this week.
The nonprofit Lake Improvement Association is paying for the $4,700 beach rehab project, which started this morning.
"It should be done in about three days, if the weather is good," LIA Vice President Mark Piening said during the nonprofit's meeting Saturday. [More]

NEW BREMEN - Auglaize County came out on top against Mercer County in a pair of border battles in the Division IV softball sectional at New Bremen, which was played on Sunday after wet field conditions forced a postponement.
Minster, having its best season ever, won its 21st game and captured its first sectional title with a 10-1 win over Fort Recovery in the second game of the twinbill. The top-seeded Wildcats move on to the Wapakoneta district next week. [More]

ST. HENRY - Police continue their search for vandals who last week caused damage in South Park, including a new amphitheater and veterans' memorial.
