LeRoy Piekenbrock
LeRoy J. Piekenbrock, 75, Maria Stein, died at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 5, 2013, at his home.
He was born May 22, 1937, in St. Rose, to Edward and Stella Prenger Piekenbrock. He married Janice M. Clune on Nov. 18, 1961, in Chickasaw, and she survives in Maria Stein.
He is also survived by his children, Karen (Dave) Friar, Versailles, Mark (Janel) Piekenbrock, Westerville, Dennis (Shelly) Piekenbrock, Pickerington, Brenda (Kevin) Kuess, Coldwater; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth (Ken) Bruns, St. Sebastian, Esther (Rich) Heckman, Frenchtown, Edna (Alvin) Tebbe, Yorkshire, Eva Gehret, Yorkshire, Linda (Larry) Pleiman, Yorkshire, Eileen (Art) Siefring, Burkettsville, Emily (Chuck) Timmerman, Union City, and Erma (Bob) Stump, Fort Recovery; in-laws, Julie (Charles) Pax, Cambridge, Md., Jane Clune, Huntsville, Ala., Arnold (Pat) Clune, Minster, John (Marilyn) Clune, New Bremen, Richard (Sandy) Clune, Celina, Kay (Roger) Hoying, Fort Loramie, Ed Clune, Maria Stein, Randy Clune (Mary Westgerdes), Chickasaw, and Deb (Charles) Riethman, Maria Stein.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild; brothers-in-law, Joe Gehret, Lavern Clune and Paul Timmerman; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Clune.
He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose, the Men's Sodality of the church, the Maria Stein American Legion and sexton at St. Rose Cemetery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired farmer, seed salesman and bus driver at Marion Local Schools.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Rose Catholic Church, the Rev. Gene Schnipke celebrant.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Burial with full military honors will take place in St. Rose Cemetery.
