Marian Evers
Marian W. Evers, 81, St. Wendelin, died Feb. 27, 2013, at her home.
She was born May 13, 1931, in St. Sebastian to Bernard and Agatha Albers Schmitmeyer. On March 28, 1951, she married Gregor B. Evers, who survives in St. Wendelin.
She is also survived by seven children, William (Ruth) Evers of Coldwater, Donna (Gary) Moeller of Cassella, Roger (Karen) Evers of Celina, Cindy (Rhett) Snyder of Celina, Therese (Chuck) Alt of Crestline, Lester Evers of St. Wendelin and Vicki (Bill) Homan of Fishers, Ind., 25 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 17 great-grandchildren; six siblings, Luke & Mildred Schmitmeyer of Coldwater, Sr. Lucille Schmitmeyer of Tiffin, Eunice (Willard) Dahlinghaus of Minster, Martin (Marie) Schmitmeyer of Celina, Hattie (Ivo) Knapke of Versailles and Ella Mae (Roger) Watercutter of Fort Wayne, Ind., and in-laws, Alma Schmitmeyer of St. Henry, Edward (Rita) Evers of Burkettsville, Clem Evers Jr. of St. Henry, Esther Evers Wuebker of Fort Recovery and Irene Evers of St. Henry.
She was preceded in death by two children, Mary Lou Evers and Fred Evers, siblings, Evelyn (Louie) Bruns and Ernest Schmitmeyer; and in-laws, Lucille Schmitmeyer, Herbert (Esther) Evers, Harold (Ludvina) Evers, Florence (Anna) Evers, Clarence (Rita) Evers, Alfrieda (Sylvan) Siegrist, Walter Evers and Henry Evers.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its Ladies Sodality. She served as a Eucharistic minister, choir member and a Rosary leader for many years and was a homemaker.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Wendelin Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
