Margaret Winans
Margaret A. Winans, 83, Celina, passed away Sept. 15, 2013, due to complications from a stroke. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb. 14, 1930. When she was 7 years old her mother, Bertha A. Braun, married her stepfather, August B. Schwieterman. On April 21, 1956, she married Davy Winans, who survives in Celina
She is also survived by and will be missed by her daughters, Becky, Celina, and Jane (Scott) Hall, Galena; her son Mike, Celina; sisters-in-law, Jean and June; nieces; nephews; and the family cat, George.
She was a 1948 graduate of Rockford High School. She had been employed by Mersman Tables, the Mersman Federal Credit Union and Celina West Elementary School, from where she retired after working 20 years in the cafeteria. She was also a volunteer leader for the Jolly Jills 4-H Club.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, going on bus trips, vacationing in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., and visiting friends and family.
She made the selfless gift of donating her body to the Boonshoft Medical Center at Wright State University.
A memorial service is being planned for early October.
Memorial donations may be given to State of the Heart Hospice, Coldwater, or charity of the donor's choice.
