Ralph Godwin
Ralph Godwin, 91, Celina, died at 11:55 a.m. Jan. 20, 2014, in Naples, Fla.
He was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Bluffton, Ind., to Clark Harvey and Gertrude Ira Huffman Godwin. On Feb. 12, 1953, he married Rita Knapschaefer, who died Jan. 8, 2007.
Surviving are a son, Andy (Jody) Godwin, Mendon; a special friend, Elaine Tumbush, Celina; two brothers, Jim (Mary) Godwin, Mendon, and Dick (Mary) Godwin, Mendon; and two grandchildren, Aaron Godwin, Celina, and Alton Godwin, Mendon.
Deceased are four brothers, Joseph, Clarence, Robert and Harry Godwin, and a sister, Violet Godwin.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He had worked as a farmer, entrepreneur and pioneer in the sound, two way radio and television industry. He was a photo finish photographer and invented a photo finish camera. He was the owner of Godwin's Radio Service and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina. He also was a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Celina American Legion and Celina Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Services are 7 p.m. Friday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Thomas Brenberger, C.P.P.S., officiating Burial is at a later date. Military services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
