Thelma Broerman
Thelma Matilda (Hartings) Broerman, age 86, of Cranberry Prairie, died on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at her home.
She was born August 10, 1929, in Cranberry Prairie, to the late Joseph & Mary (Evers) Hartings. On June 23, 1951, she married Lawrence Broerman, who died August 10, 1996.
She is survived by children, Gin & John Voress of New Bremen, Charlie & Dolly Broerman of New Bremen, Phyllis Broerman of New Bremen, Nancy Bond of Celina, Mark & Jenny Broerman of North Star, Walter & Ronda Broerman of Carthagena, and Sandy Poeppelman of New Bremen, and daughter-in-law Pam Broerman of Spencerville, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren, siblings, Ernest & Alfreda Hartings of Coldwater, Patricia Broerman of New Bremen, Lester & Delores Hartings of St. Henry, Betty & Jack Romer of St. Henry, Linus & Carol Hartings of Coldwater, and Myron & Patty Hartings of Mendon, in-laws, Frank Broerman of Tipp City, Carl & Rose Broerman of Fort Loramie, and Joe Wuebker of New Bremen.
She is preceded in death by a son, Tom Broerman, brother and sisters, Evelyn Bertke, Virginia Hartings, and Virgil Hartings, in-laws, Louis Bertke, Al Broerman, Leo Broerman, Dorothy Wuebker, Vera Meyer Arling, Mary Louise & Marion Shadley, Hilda Broerman, Marlene Broerman, Kenneth Meyer, Walter Arling, Marie Broerman, and Clarina Broerman.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Cranberry Prairie and the Ladies Sodality. She worked part time at Chief Markets in Coldwater, and assisted cooking weddings.
Thelma loved to crochet, quilt, do puzzles, and read.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater on Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM.
