Vernon Coats
Vernon P. Coats, 75, of Celina, Ohio, died at 1:35 am, on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Celina Manor Nursing Home, Celina, Ohio.
He was born April 19, 1940 in Mercer County, Ohio to Howard F. and Mildred (Roberts) Coats; both preceded him in death. On September 21, 1960 he married Vivian M. Browder, and she survives at the residence in Celina, Ohio.
Other survivors include three children, Vickie (Ken) Prenger, Celina, Ohio, Vernon P. Coats Jr. and Fiancé Tina Huffman, Indiana, and Valery (Dean) Garwick, Salem, Ohio; a sister, Barbara (William) Doty; three brothers, Howard (Joan) Coats, Dallas Coats, and Jim (Bonnie) Coats; two sister-in-law, Gertrude Gehle and Rose Browder; a brother-in-law, Harry Browder; seven grandchildren, Andrea (Andy) Regedanz, Stephanie (Josh) Kizer, James L Fishpaw III and fiancé Danielle Huff, Sarah (Paul) Brown, Gretchen Coats and fiancé Charles Seidenstricker, Robert Garwick, Nicole Garwick and fiancé John Flask; and eleven great grandchildren, Anthony Martin, Blake Ley, Cayden Ley, Haley and Tony Kizer, Dalton, Colin, Logan, Liam, and Ryley Brown, Michael Seidenstricker.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Don (Dorothy) Coats and Irvin (Barb) Coats; two sisters, Joyce (Charles "Red") Ward, and Betty Combs; three brother-in-law's, Louis Gehle, Paul (Linda) Browder, and John Browder; two sister-in-law's, Lonnie Jo Browder and Marge Browder; and two great grandchildren, Jaylynn and Jordyn Brown.
Vernon worked at New Idea, Coldwater, Ohio and Colonial Bread Company, Celina, Ohio.
He attended Beaver Chapel Congregational, Celina, Ohio. He was a former member of Celina American Legion Post 210, Celina Eagles, and Celina Moose.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had a strong faith in God. He will be deeply missed by all.
Memorial Services will begin at Noon, Friday, April 1, 2016, in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, with Pastor Tom Christen officiating; where the family will receive friends 10:00 am – noon prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina, Ohio.
