Frances Knapke
Frances M. Knapke, age 95, formerly of Coldwater, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Celina Manor.
She was born May 1, 1920, in St. Peter, Ohio, to the late John & Elizabeth (Koesters) Jutte. On June 15, 1940 she married Adolph J. Knapke. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1993.
She is survived by nine children, Tom Knapke, St. Marys, Janice Gruebmeyer, Phoenix, AZ, Mike & Teri Knapke, Englewood, OH, Larry & Carol Knapke, Littleton, CO, Gary & Jackie Knapke, Coldwater, Leon Knapke, Aurora, CO, Joyce & Kraig Klosterman, Coldwater, Bev & Lon Frye, Naperville, IL and Nancy & Mark Poeppelman, Dublin, OH, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, sisters-in-law, Ethel Jutte, St. Henry and Joanne Jutte, Celina.
She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Ann Knapke, son-in-law Jerry Gobrecht, brothers: Alfred & Ginny Jutte, Ralph & Sally Jutte, Albert Jutte, Johnnie & Luella Jutte, sisters: Loretta & Ollie Braun, Florentine & Herb Fiely, Johanna & Bill Keller, Justine & Ray Bader and Mildred & Henry Knoth, 2 great grandchildren, Jacob & Ryan Knapke, and in-laws, Florian & Viola Knapke, Louie & Wilma Knapke, Eulitta & Ray Laux and Linus Knapke.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater and the Ladies Sodality of the Church. She worked at Bettie's Restaurant and retired custodian from Coldwater Schools.
Frances enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, attending church and most of all, spending time with her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday and 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
