Glenn Ryan
Glenn Christian Ryan, 80, of Minster, OH died 12:25 p.m. Wednesday March 23, 2016 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, OH.
He was born December 12, 1935 in Dayton, OH to Paul and Beulah (Lanham) Ryan.
Survived by: wife Cora (Wertheim-Lehman) Ryan of Minster, OH; son Alan Ryan of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Stephanie (Dan) Winterfield of Cedar Park, TX; daughter the Rev. Christina (Matthew) Perkins of Ft.Wayne, IN; son Paul Ryan of Sparta, TN; son U.S. Army Capt. Raymond Ryan of Brussels, Belgium; step-son William (Mariah) Lehman of Bremerton, WA; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents Paul and Beulah Ryan; first wife Phyllis (Blevins) Ryan; brother Jack Ryan; half-brother Paul Ryan; half-brother Donald Ryan.
He was a graduate of Stivers High School in Dayton (Class of 1955).
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an instructor of auto technology for twenty years, having taught at Montgomery Co. JVS in Clayton, OH and Vantage Career Center in Van Wert. He also worked for South Park Garage and Borchers Ford (Both in Dayton, OH) and Auto Zone in Lima and Celina, OH.
He attended St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, OH. He was a member of VFW Post #3035 in Delphos, OH, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1391 in Minster and American Legion Post # 241 in New Bremen.
His favorite pastime was enjoying the outdoors while cruising on his pontoon boat. He also enjoyed the company of his canine companions, "King" and "Coco."
A Celebration of Life is scheduled to begin 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 2, 2016 at St. Paul United Church of Christ 119 N. Franklin Street in New Bremen, with the Rev. Becky Erb Strang, officiating.
Visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Military funeral honors will be presented immediately following the services at the church.
