Cletus Cron
Cletus H. Cron, age 88, of Celina, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born May 11, 1932, in Mercer County, to Anthony A. Cron Sr.and Catherine M. (Quinter) Cron. Cletus and Pauline M. Linn were married August 18, 1954, and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2018.
Surviving are his children: Tim Cron of Saint Sebastian, Tony Cron of Coldwater, and Pam Cron of Celina, grandchildren: Haley Feltz and Mitchell Cron, great-grandsons: Gabriel and Alexander Feltz, and a sister & brother: Rosie Fleck of Celina and George (Janet) Cron of Parma.
Preceding him in death were brothers & sisters: Wilbert (Lorena) Boeckman, Richard (Alvira) Boeckman, Marcella "Sally" (Aloys) Weitzel, Joseph (Rita) Boeckman, Rita (Wilbert "Pete") Moeller, Raphael "Ray" (Gwen) Cron, Anthony Cron Jr., John (Marjorie) Cron, and Erma (Harold) Klosterman, and brothers-in-law: Gerald Fleck and Lester Linn.
Cletus attended school in Montezuma, then worked on the family farm. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was stationed in Italy during the Korean War. Often working two jobs at a time, Cletus was employed as a driver for Craig Trucking and Celina Truck & Tractor. He retired from Reynolds & Reynolds in Celina after 32 years of service. After his retirement, Cletus mowed the Mercer County Fairgrounds for 11 years.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Celina, and a life member of the Celina Knights of Columbus Council #1800. Cletus enjoyed driving the "Blue Bus" for Immaculate Conception School, transporting students on field trips and to sporting events. Cletus enjoyed mowing his yard and riding his bicycle.
Calling Hours for the public are being held from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina. Attendees are asked to follow the COVID-19 guidelines established by Governor DeWine and the State of Ohio.
A private Mass of Christian Burial for immediate family only, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 28, at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, with Fr. Ken Schnipke, C.PP.S., presiding. The Mass will be livestreamed at https://celina-ic.org/live/. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery in Celina, with graveside Military Rites to be conducted by Celina American Legion Post #210 and VFW Post #5713.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or the IC Educational Endowment Fund.
