Ethel Briggs
Ethel Marie Briggs, age 83, passed away February 6, 2022, at 9:20 am, at the Briarwood Village Nursing Home.
Ethel was born January 24, 1939, in Lima, OH, to Floyd and Mildred (Ralston) Patterson Sr. who preceded her in death. On November 3, 1957, she married Phillip Briggs who preceded her in death on November 26, 2006.
Ethel was a graduate of Lima Senior High School. She had worked for more than 20 years with the Lima City Schools in the cafeteria from which she retired in 1991. She was a member of the Market St. Presbyterian Church. Ethel loved spending time with her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildrens' activities.
Ethel is survived by her children: April (Eric) Goodwin of Coldwater, OH and Tony (Michelle) Briggs of Atlanta, GA, 6 grandchildren: Payton Goodwin, Casey Goodwin, Carlee Goodwin, Joshua Phillips, Austin Briggs and Caiden Briggs and 3 step-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, Tinley.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tameria Briggs and 5 siblings: Floyd Patterson Jr., James Patterson, Billy Dean Patterson, Dennis Patterson and Barbara Freytag.
There will be a funeral service held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Friends may visit on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the Shawnee Chapel.
