Martin Schmitt
Martin "Marty" Paul Schmitt, 51, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away unexpected, as a result of an automobile accident, on Monday, August 15, 2022.
He was born on January 11, 1971, in Coldwater, Ohio, to Dorothy E. (Niekamp) Schmitt of St. Henry and the late Ralph O. Schmitt.
In addition to his mother, Marty is survived by his wife of 27 years, Annette Lynn (Robinson) Schmitt, whom he married on August 19, 1995; his children, Sabrina, Cole, Danielle, all of home; his siblings Marvin Schmitt of St. Henry, Patrick Schmitt of Celina, Dale (Sandy) Schmitt of Versailles, Wanda (Tim) Jacobs of St. Henry, and Mary Jo (Steve) Bucklew of St. Henry; his mother-in-law, Doris Robinson of Celina; his in-laws, Jim Robinson of Greenville, Linda (Tom) Pleiman of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Karen Schmitt of Celina, Cindy (Kris) Hinton of Celina, Mike (Brenda) Robinson of Celina, and Brian Robinson of Celina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Marty is preceded in death by his brother in-law, Jerry Robinson, and his father in-law, Paul Robinson.
Marty was a 1989 graduate of St. Henry High School. He worked for Francis Manufacturing Company in Russia for the last 27 years. Marty was an avid outdoorsman and a proud member of the Ohio Progressive Sportsman Club in Fort Recovery. He raised water dogs and enjoyed going hunting, especially hog hunting in Mississippi. He raised several types of chickens and liked to attend chicken shows with his family. Marty was also a proud Steelers fan and a member of the Celina VFW, Post 5713.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 19, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe. Burial will follow in St. Joe Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Marty's family on Thursday, August 18, 2022, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery.
