Lavern Homan age 84 of Anna, Ohio, died on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
He was born on February 6, 1940 in Celina, Ohio to the late Frank & Edna (Kremer) Homan. He married Marcia (Pleiman) on April 25, 1964 in Sacred Heart Church, McCartyville. She survives in Anna.
He is also survived by children: Catherine & Michael Egan, Sidney, Constance & Gregory Gariety, Russia, Christopher & Julia Homan, Anna, Colleen & Jay Winner, Lewiston, Cara & Matthew Ingram, Marietta, 21 grandchildren, Ashley & Alex Thompson, Marcella Egan, Brooke & Aaron Condon, Justin & Emily Gariety, Jordan & Savannah Gariety, Jacob Gariety, Eliza Gariety, Devin Homan, Erika & Isaac Sudhoff, Kyle Homan, Keith Homan, Rachel Homan, Levi & Erin Winner, Ivan & Megan Winner, Vanessa & Aaron Marchal, Calvin & Rachel Winner, Ava Winner and fiancé Mason Platfoot, Eden Ingram, Vincent Ingram, Josephine Ingram, Anthony Ingram, 14 great grandchildren, siblings: Don Dahlinghaus, Celina, Lester Homan, Dayton, Marvin Homan, New Bremen, Sharon and Dennis Ontrop, Ft. He was preceded in death by sister: Marita Dahlinghaus, sisters-in-law Elizabeth Homan, Carolyn Homan, in-laws: Harold & Angela Pleiman, Deborah Bruns.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, McCartyville. He was a graduate of St. Johns High School Maria Stein, in the US Army Reserves, Board of Producers, Van Buren Twp Zoning Board, and the Farm Bureau. He was a lifelong farmer. Lavern enjoyed playing cards, traveling and he loved following grandkids activities and spending time with family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church, McCartyville with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
