Shirley Roediger
Shirley A. Roediger, age 87, of Neptune, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
She was born on February 5, 1939, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Luther and Gertrude (Fackler) Walls. On June 2, 1957, she married the love of her life, Stanley A. Roediger, who preceded her in death on December 25, 2008.
Shirley is survived by her four sons, Jeff Roediger, Rod Roediger, Tom (Tonya) Roediger, and Brad (Chris York) Roediger; her daughter, Sheila Garwood; seven grandchildren, Nick, Chad, Kyle, Vanessa, Nathan, Cody, and Sierra; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by an infant grandson.
A 1957 graduate of Rockford High School, Shirley proudly served as a majorette in the high school band. Throughout her life, she worked in a variety of occupations, but her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was caring for her family as a devoted homemaker, nurturing three generations of children with love and dedication.
Shirley cherished spending time with her family and found great happiness tending to her beautiful flower beds. She was a faithful member of Neptune Baptist Church until its closing.
Private burial services will be held at Neptune Cemetery with her immediate family, with Pastor Shawn Meyer officiating.
