* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Maurice Williams
Maurice Lee Williams, age 99, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Mercer Health in Coldwater. He was born on April 25, 1927, in Rockford, Ohio, to the late Maurice and LaVerne (Lawrence) Williams. He married Starley Johnson Williams, who preceded him in death in 1994.
Lee is survived by his son, Lee (Jennifer) Williams of Greer, South Carolina; stepchildren, David Phipps of Mansfield and Susan Stevens of Elida; five grandchildren, Ashly (Chadwick), Dylan (Cassandra), Zachary, Faith, and Isaac; three great-grandchildren, Kai, Arlo, and Judah; and his siblings, Larry Williams of St. Marys, Nancy (Larry) Florence of Coldwater, and Arlene Riley of Van Wert.
In addition to his wife and parents, Lee was preceded in death by his siblings, Don (Evelyn) Williams, Bill (Barbara) Williams, Jack (Lois) Williams, Tom (Pat) Williams, Mary Lou (Lowell) Caywood, JoAnn Williams, Phyliss (Bill) Stover, and Patty (Ed) Raudabaugh; and a sister-in-law, Karen Williams.
Lee was a 1945 graduate of Rockford High School. He worked for many years at Continental Can Company in Van Wert before retiring in 1984. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina.
A talented and accomplished woodworker, Lee took great pride in creating things with his hands. He also enjoyed fishing and the peaceful moments spent outdoors. Above all, Lee will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His caring nature and generosity touched the lives of many, and he was deeply loved by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Matt Overman officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
