Eve Compton
On August 13, 2026 at 7:07 am, Our Lord and Savior called Eve Rochelle (Finke) Compton home to her place of eternal rest. Eve was surrounded by family through her transition of leaving her living body to her spiritual self. Eve passed peacefully at the OSU East Campus, In Columbus, Ohio. Eve had just turned 70 in July.
Eve was born on July 2,1956 to Clifford and Rosabelle (Boyer) Finke. Eve grew up at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Ohio. On November 27th, 1971, Eve married the love of her life and best friend from childhood, Ronald (Ron) Compton. They were married for 54 years, which is truly a blessing and honor today. Eve and Ron shared life together in their family home in St. Marys, Ohio. Eve was the mother of 2 children, Angie and (Kenny) Jones, Celina, Ohio; Brandon and Jennifer (Mierzwa) Compton, Winter Garden, Florida. Eve was a very proud grandmother of 4 very close grandkids, Cooper and Maria (Lutz) Jones, Whitney Jones, Hannah Compton and Reese Compton. Eve loved watching her children and grandchildren grow up and reach their goals in life. She loved them all very much.
Eve was the sister to Vonalee (Finke) Martin, Terry and Joyce (Brodbeck) Finke and Jeannie and (Charles) McMullen. She Had several nieces and nephews, a special niece, Paige (Martin) Canfield. Several aunts, many cousins and many different groups of friends that she loved all very much. When Eve loved she loved hard. You knew she was there for you, by the way she loved each person in their own ways.
Eve is preceded in death by both her parents, Clifford and Rosabelle Finke, Sister, Vonalee Martin, Brother, Terry Finke, Father and Mother- in- laws, Gale and Vernabell Compton, Brother-in-law Randy Compton, and many different cousins and great friends and loving pets.
Eve was in the 1974 class of Memorial High School in St. Marys, Ohio. Eve played the drums in the band like her two older sisters did, Vonalee and Jeannie. Eve was a member of the Northwestern Ohio Rifle Club where her Father Clifford coached her. She was an expert marksman with all her distinguished pins she earned. Eve worked many years and acquired a lot of good friendships at Huffy Bicycle in Celina, Ohio until it closed then she became a welder at Setex in St. Marys, Ohio, gaining even more good friendships until she retired.
Eve was a hard-working woman and loved her family and friends so much. Eve and Ron together loved to travel, vacation in Florida, go on cruises and loved camping with friends. Eve was a helper in many ways. She would give and help those who needed it and she was very honored to do so and never had expectations from anyone. If you knew Eve, you know she always tried to make people laugh and joke around. She was like the life of the party to any room she walked in. People loved her and she will definitely be missed by many.
