The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Elaine Heitkamp
Coldwater native Elaine M. Heitkamp, 56, of Pagosa Springs, Colo., died at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 16, 2007, at her home. Death was due to asthma complications.
She was born Aug. 19, 1951, in Coldwater, to Louis and Ellenor Pohlman, who survive in Yorkshire. On June 29, 1974, she married Donald Heitkamp, who also survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Elly, Pagosa Springs; a son, Jay, Pagosa Springs; six brothers, James (Linda) Pohlman, Henry (Becky) Pohlman and Bill (Terese) Pohlman, all of Versailles, Nick (Marilyn) Pohlman, Russia, and Ted (Diane) Pohlman and Sam (Betty) Pohlman, all of Yorkshire; five sisters, Norma (Irvin) Osterloh, Arkdale, Wis., Ruth (Thomas) Knapke, Celina, Margie (David) Bensman, Minster, Mary (Tony) Luthman, Sidney, and Sharon (David) Eyink, Celina.
She was a beautician and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Pagosa Springs.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Jim Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by La Quey Funeral Home, Pagosa Springs.
