A nonprofit county agency is extending its daily meal program to the southern half of Mercer County to offer both nutritious food and fellowship for more aging citizens.
The Mercer County Council on Aging has long provided discounted meals at its Celina Senior Center at 11 a.m. Monday-Friday for anyone 60 or older. The meal is often the cornerstone of the day at the center, with people staying for cards, bingo, line dancing and other activities. [More]

ST. HENRY - Pitching reigned supreme at the St. Henry Bank-WCSM Classic on Saturday.
So did the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans.
Ethan White scattered five hits over seven innings, his defense played lights out behind him and Ottawa-Glandorf manufactured just enough runs to get past St. Henry 3-1 in the tournament final at Wally Post Athletic Complex. [More]

ST. MARYS - Minster spotted St. Marys the first two runs of Saturday's softball doubleheader and then took control in sweeping the Roughriders 8-3 and 13-2 at K.C. Geiger Park to improve to 8-2 on the season.
The Parkway softball team won both its games during a four-team doubleheader on Saturday and gave Mark Esselstein a milestone achievement in his 31st season as the only head coach the Panthers have had.
