Robert Mills
Robert E Mills, age 84 of Celina, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on March 23, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Robert & Jeanne (Kimmel) Mills.
He is survived by numerous close friends and wishes to remember his godchildren; Amy (Fleck) Thomas of Columbus, Thomas Burnett of Pittsburg, PA, Shannon (Temple) Strohl of Flower Mound, TX and Beth Wendt of Dayton and his dear friends; Dale (Paulette) Sommers, Randal Euckert, Patricia Temple all of Celina and Jim (Celine) Burnett of Beavercreek.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his very good friend Doug Temple.
Robert graduated from Randolph Senior High School, with the class of 1953, then received his Bachelor Degree in education from Defiance College and completed his Masters at the University of Dayton. He taught at the Celina High School, I.C.H.S., Northmont High School and retired as the guidance counselor for Marion Local High School.
Roberts enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. After he retired, he moved to Florida where he earned the title of bridge master. He spent his time reading, mushroom hunting and fishing.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S. officiating. Robert's remains will be buried in the Arlington Cemetery in Brookville, Ohio at a later date.
A memorial gathering will be held from 9:30 a.m until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Aug. 10, 2019 at the funeral home. Immediately following Robert's memorial service a celebration of life will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Celina.
