Indiana man dies in crash

CELINA - An Indiana man was killed in a traffic accident reported at 12:18 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Hoenie and Oregon roads in Hopewell Township.
Richard D. Medina, 32, of Marion, Indiana, was driving a 1997 Ford Aspire westbound on Oregon Road Monday and Donald J. Bird, 49, Coldwater, was driving a 2013 Dodge Journey southbound on Hoenie Road, according to a news release from the Mercer County Sheriff's Office. [More]
St. Marys elects new treasurer, council member

ST. MARYS - Voters in St. Marys chose a new city treasurer and second ward council member Tuesday after incumbents of those positions chose not to run for re-election, and also confirmed first ward councilman John Bubp's re-election.

The race for city treasurer was tight, with Frank Thomas, 74, just winning out over competitor Kathy Fleagle, 62. Thomas received 463 votes, or a little over 51%, while Fleagle received 437. [More]
