ST. MARYS - More than 25 community members, students and school staff observed a moment of silence during Wednesday night's school board meeting in memory of fifth grade student Jersey Poff and longtime teacher and basketball coach Jeff Johnides.
Poff, 11, died Sept. 3, 2023, at Dayton Children's' Hospital after a brief illness, according to her obituary. [More]

ROCKFORD - A teacher and district taxpayer questioned the necessity of Parkway's proposed $4.5 million athletic facility.
Anita Morton, a teacher who also serves as Parkway Education Association president, addressed school board members as a taxpayer during Wednesday's regular meeting.
CELINA - Mercer County Board of Health members may consider raising the amount of contributions required from the county's political subdivisions.
